The application submitted within Key Action 1  Mobility for school staff in the Erasmus + programme was approved in April 2016. The beneficiary is Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących nr 2 in Bytom.

The project entitled Improving language competences of teachers as a chance for our school development is carried out in 2016 – 2018.

The grant awarded - 30 543 euro.

The main objective of the project is increasing language competences of the school staff, what will lead to increasing the quality of education and international cooperation.

The specific goals of the project are:

-          introducing new tools/technology and methodologies in foreign language teaching,

-          supporting teacher training with the view of introducing innovation (CLIL - content language integrated learning),

-          giving the school an international perspective – increasing the number of international projects at school, such as eTwinning, strategic partnerships and student exchanges.

The project is aimed at the whole school education staff: language teachers and teachers of other subjects: science, humanistic, artistic and physical education, interested in improving their language skills.

The project includes linguistic and intercultural  preparation, participation in: language, specialist and teacher training courses, implementation of the acquired knowledge and skills at school, evaluation and dissemination of the project results.

Within the project, the school received organisational support (4900 euro) for carrying out the project (e.g. linguistic preparation, purchase of course books and stationary, the project promotion).

There are 14 mobilities in the project to Ireland, Germany and Malta.

Types of mobilities:

-          language courses (at different levels) for teachers teaching different subjects,

-          teacher training courses for foreign language teachers (English and German) on using modern technology in the classroom,

-          specialist courses on CLIL.
